The insole and the inner lining are made of soft, super comfortable, recycled microfiber or cotton terry towels, recovered from hotels. The sole is made of recycled tyres. All RE49 shoes are hand-made in Italy, in our atelier in Gonars, in the province of Udine.Back in 1949 Valentino Masolini started to recycle fabric scraps and abandoned military uniforms to make shoes. In 2021, his great-grandson, Nicola Masolini, reuses fabrics, beach umbrellas, beach deckchairs and sails to create shoes.
